OVHcloud, the giant ;France Quantum 2026. It has not only announced one, but has also confirmed that the first one, where each task can be assigned to the most suitable platform (whether a quantum computer based on photons, neutral atoms, or for its platform: The OVHcloud Quantum Platform, which already offered access to the QPUs of Pasqal and Quandela, will add Quobly technology at the end of 2026. This is based on spin qubits on silicon manufactured with standard industrial processes (300mm FD-SOI wafers), which makes it compatible with existing infrastructure.
The detail that makes it viral: The future is a computing “network”
Most people think the future is having a more powerful quantum computer. The reality is that the future, according to OVHcloud and Welinq, is having many different types of quantum computers connected in a network.
“The future of quantum computing will not depend solely on the power of quantum computers, but on their ability to connect in a network and coordinate within computing infrastructures.”
— Tom Darras, CEO and co-founder of Welinq.
This is a paradigm shift. Welinq’s solution allows entire datacenters to function as an ecosystem where computing nodes (classical and quantum) communicate and share resources dynamically.
And what comes next?
- End of 2026: Quobly’s first commercial quantum computer, Alloy Pioneer, will be available on OVHcloud’s sovereign cloud. It is designed and developed entirely in France.
- Continuous R&D: The collaboration with Welinq is not a one-off project, but a line of research to define the architecture of the datacenters of the future.
And what does this matter to me?
That the European (and sovereign) cloud is putting all its chips on quantum computing, and not as a mere access provider, but as an architect of the infrastructure. This means that European companies will be able to experiment with applications (simulations, optimization, etc.) that were previously out of reach of traditional architectures, all in a secure and compatible environment.
In short: OVHcloud is not just getting on the quantum computing bandwagon; it is building the highways it will travel on.
