If you need to restore an old WhatsApp backup copy, there are different ways to do it depending on the type of device you use. Many times we delete important conversations or switch phones and we want to recover messages, photos, or videos from a previous WhatsApp backup.

On Android, WhatsApp saves backups on Google Drive and also in the phone’s internal storage. To restore an old backup, uninstall the app, reinstall it, and when you log in, select the Restore backup option. If the backup you want doesn’t appear, you can disconnect from Google Drive and use an older local backup, which is usually found in the WhatsApp/Databases folder.
On iPhone, backups are saved in iCloud. You just need to delete the app, reinstall it, and choose Restore from iCloud to recover your previous chats.
Remember that to recover an old WhatsApp backup you must use the same phone number and Google or Apple account that the original backup had. That way you can easily restore your old WhatsApp messages and keep your conversations intact.
