Look, the other one. I had three with an app and no idea that the Mac already comes with everything you need built in. Everything. Free. Without installing anything.
The shortcut you need to burn into your memory is Shift + Command + 3. Press those three keys at the same time and in less than a second you have the it turns into a crosshair and you drag to select exactly what you want no file, you just have to add the Control key to the shortcut. Control + Shift + Command + 3 and the screenshot goes straight to the clipboard. You paste it wherever you want and you’re not left with junk on your desktop.
For those who want more control, Shift + Command + 5 opens the full Screenshot app, with timer options, screen recording and choosing where to save each capture. That panel is the one you should know if you make tutorials or work explaining things to others.
