Okay, let me tell you quickly because I was about to restart the wifi like a crazy person… it turns out that this morning I tried to send a message on WhatsApp and nothing. Only that little clock eternally appeared. I thought it was the signal, but I opened Instagram and everything was normal 🤨
I recommend you check out this interesting article: <a href="https://www.chusmeando.com/informatica-y-tecnologia/que-hacer-si-te-han-hackeado-la-cuenta-de-instagram/” title=”What to do if your Instagram account has been hacked” class=”internal-recommendation” target=”_self” rel=”noopener”>What to do if your Instagram account has been hacked.
I tried everything: I closed the app, opened it again, I even restarted the phone (the classic parent trick haha), and nothing. Then I started searching and apparently I’m not the only person this is happening to. So if it’s failing for you too, here’s what finally helped me:
- <a href="https://www.chusmeando.com/informatica-y-tecnologia/trucos-whatsapp/como-transferir-chats-de-whatsapp-de-android-a-iphone/” title=”Fix Problems When Transferring WhatsApp to iPhone”>Check if it’s WhatsApp that’s the problem. Sometimes it’s not your phone, it’s that WhatsApp is down (and you’re going crazy over it). You can search on Twitter or on those pages that show if there’s a global outage. I use one called Downdetector.
- Airplane mode ON and OFF. It sounds silly, but turning it on for a few seconds and then turning it off helped me once. I don’t know what magic it does, but it works.
- Check your data or wifi. Even if you have signal, it can be weak. It happened to me that I had “connection,” but nothing would load. Try switching networks or using mobile data if you were on wifi (or vice versa).
- Update WhatsApp. Sometimes it’s just that. You go to the Play Store or App Store and boom!, pending update. And you had no idea.
- Space on your phone. This made me laugh because I wasn’t expecting it, but if your phone’s memory is full, the app doesn’t work well. Delete old memes, people, they weigh more than you think 😂
- App permissions. Check if WhatsApp has permission to use data in the background, access to storage, etc. Sometimes we accidentally disable something and there’s chaos.
If none of that works, then all that’s left is to uninstall and reinstall (but make a backup first, don’t be like me who lost half a conversation with my aunt! 😅).
Well, that’s it, I hope it helps someone. If you have other tricks or know what’s going on, I’m reading. Because with so many weird things, you don’t know if it’s the phone, the internet, aliens, or what 🙃📱
